The area of the park also enjoys great climate as the winter sees the temperature fall only to 8o C. This makes the place ideal for migratory birds from Africa and other European countries.

Another park is Tablas de Daimiel occupying some 1,982 hectares of land. Its location is La Mancha Humeda. The area has large plains as well as endoreic areas and wetlands. More than 200 bird species can be observed in the region. Montana de Covadonga is yet another national park occupying some 17,000 hectares. Its location is to the western side of Picos de Europa which is a mountain range. It lies between Dobra and Cares rivers. There are animal as well as plant species that are endangered in this region. Some of these are the capercaille, royal eagle, and the holly.

Occupying some 16,000 hectares in Huesca Pyrenees is Ordesa national park. It has natural enclaves that have been preserved over the years. There are mountain goats in the area that are the only ones in the Pyrenees.

Lago de Sant Marici and Aiugues Tortes National Parks cover 10,230 hectares. Mountain peaks surround the two national parks. There are cascades, valleys and mountain lakes in the area.

Other parks include Canadas del Teide, Timanfanya, Caldera de Taburiente, Garajonay and Maritimo-Terrestre national parks. The common features of the national parks are mountains and other natural occurrences that require to be preserved. A visit to any of the national parks will be highly rewarding as you will get to see the traditional Spain in all its glory.
