Spain is a country that enjoys a lot of diversity and is among the most popular places that are renowned for offering some of the best holidays ever. There is a lot to look forward to during a tour or holiday to Spain and the areas that one can cover are also many. It therefore becomes necessary to find a reliable means of transportation while in the country to help you cover the areas more easily.
One of the ways that you can travel In Spain is by car. In some major cities especially Barcelona and Madrid and also the mid sized cities like San Sebastian, it is not advisable to drive. This is because the task can prove very frustrating and quite expensive. The fines that are imposed on people who park improperly may be very high depending on where exactly you had parked. A driving map may be necessary as many streets are one way and you may experience more rights than lefts and the turns are also not very predictable. Driving only makes great sense when you are travelling in between cities. It is also ideal when you are not planning for an overnight parking especially in the major cities. The scenery in Spain is very wonderful as it is beautiful and so a drive can actually be very helpful in terms of helping you see all the scenery at your disposal. It is an ideal way to learn of all areas in Spain.
In Spain, you can expect two types of highways: Motorways (autopistas), and expressways (autovias). Autovias are free but for the autopistas, there are tolls involved. There are also some speed limits for the rural roads and the town roads. Find out the speed limits for the areas you wish to cover so as to be on the safe side.
There are round about at intersections that aid you when deciding which turn to take. You may take a new direction or choose to continue with your old route. Be sure to check the lights especially the green light that allows you passage
In between cities, professional drivers are needed to get some rest after some hours. This will ensure that the driver is well rested and capable to carry on with the journey that lies ahead. There are different gas filling procedures for different brands. At some stations, you will be required to fill the tank yourself then pay at the shop. The brands also differ in prices but always choose the brand required by your engine.
